According to the department, on May 4th, at around 9:20p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of North Railroad Avenue and Richmond Road on a report of a man down in the road.
When they arrived, says the report, officers located Adam Mendes of Susanville in the roadway, suffering from trauma to the head.
Mendes was transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center and later to Renown Medical Center because of the severity of his injuries. As of the date of the department’s press release, Mendes was in serious but stable condition.
Evidence at the scene and subsequent investigation, according to the report, led officers to an address on Prospect Avenue, where on May 5th, two juvenile suspects were arrested for the assault of Mendes.
The juveniles, ages 14 and 15 of Susanville were booked into the Lassen County Juvenile Hall on charges of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Conspiracy. They will be held without bail, pending a court appearance.
