Huge boulders from a recent rockslide have blocked part of the Bizz Johnson Trail about three miles west of the Susanville Trailhead and the Bureau of Land Management is asking the public to temporarily avoid the area while they actively work to clear the massive rocks and stabilize the hillside.
While the work is underway some areas of the trail will remain open for recreation; from the Susanville Trailhead you can go as far west as the slide area. From the Devil’s Corral Trailhead you can use the other half of the trail.
The BLM encourages visitors to enjoy those areas, while being mindful of trail conditions, and to avoid using the trail when it is muddy.
