It’s homecoming week at Lassen High School and the Associated Student Body is in charge of providing a lot of purple and gold homecoming spirit with their, “A Day in the City, Night in the Country,” themed activities all week long.

Throughout the week Lassen High ASB is planning activities such as a pep rally, class floats, homecoming dance, spirit days, and even a face painting booth.

Floats are presented by the freshman, sophomore, junior and senior classes, with the most popular float earning spirit points for their class.

Following the “Day in the country, night in the city” theme the freshmen float will revolve around hunting, the sophomore float will feature a Lassen High museum tour, the junior float will be centered on camping under the stars and the senior float will focus on a city zoo in the trailer park.

Tuesday will be a ‘Walk in our Shoes’ with the choice of wearing boots or sneakers.

Wednesday will be ‘Day on the office or Day in the blind’ so either hunting attire or business apparel.

Thursday is ‘Frat or Rodeo’, and of course ‘Purple and Gold’ Friday.

Lassen High’s annual Powder Puff game will take place on Arnold Field Wednesday, with kickoff starting at 7:00 pm. The Senior/Freshman team will compete against the Junior/Sophomore team, coached Grizzly football players, and cheered on by special guest cheerleaders.

Admission to the Powder Puff game is $5, or $3 for seniors or students with an ASB card.

Other sporting events for the week include a home volleyball match on Tuesday, in the Cave, and a home swim meet on Wednesday.

On Friday the week will wrap up when the LHS football teams take on the Anderson Cubs.

The Sophomore class of 2021 is presenting this year’s Homecoming dance “Night in the Country,” on Saturday, October 13th.

New this year is a business decorating contest, “Paint the Town Purple and Gold”, and ASB members have contacted business owners to invite them to participate by decorating their business to show Lassen pride, and involving the community with our school. Any business that is interested in participating should contact [email protected].
