Red Cross has an Urgent Need for Volunteers in Our Community

Turn Compassion into Action! Become an American Red Cross Volunteer Today! The Red Cross responds to an emergency every eight minutes and their vital work is only possible because of people like you. Volunteers carry out 90% of the humanitarian work of the Red Cross.

Whether helping people after a disaster, providing support to active-duty military, their families, or veterans, or teaching life-saving skills, it’s due to support from ordinary people that we can do extraordinary things.

According to Red Cross Recruitment Specialist Kera Manley, volunteers are urgently needed to fill several positions here in the community.

Disaster Action Team
Assist individuals and families who have been impacted by a home fire or other local disaster. This is a monthly on-call shift.

Shelter Service Associate
In-person shelter support to assist with reception, feeding, dormitory, and other important tasks to help those served by the Red Cross. This is a yearly two-week deployment.

Disaster Health Services
Health professionals are needed in shelters to provide care, health education, health assessments, and support.
