Renegades Split Again with Reed High School

 

The Susanville Renegades traveled to Sparks on Saturday, June 15th to play a doubleheader against Reed High School.  Once again the Renegades split a doubleheader, losing the first game, 11-9 and winning the second game, 21-7.

 

In the first game, Reed scored seven runs in the first inning.  Susanville battled back, scoring three in the top of the seventh inning, but the game ended with two on base when the third out was recorded. Colby Chavez had three hits.  Ryan Sharpe and Jarrell Cunningham each had two. 

 

In the second game, Garrison Collier picked up the win on the mound.  The Renegades exploded for nine runs in the fourth inning to put the game away. Ryan Sharpe had four hits.  Adrik Yacelga and Jaylin Ford each had three.  Daniel Perry. Colby Chavez, and Skyler Ingwerson each had 2 hits. The Renegades are 4-4 on the season.

Renegade Raffle

The Susanville Renegade American Legion team will be having a raffle for a Greg Maddux autographed baseball. Tickets are $2.00 and can be purchased from players, at the concession stand or at Leslie’s Jewelry, Jackson’s Service Center, Idaho Market and The T&A Lounge. The drawing will be held at the Thomas Tucker Tournament  game on June 22nd at Memorial Park. Game time is 6:00 and you don’t have to be in attendance to win.

Greg Maddux control and movement were unmatched. His 355 wins (8thoverall) 3.16 ERA, 3,371 strikeouts and four Cy Young awards will make him a sure first ballot Hall of Famer in 2014. He also won a record 18 Gold Glove Awards primarily for the Cubs and Braves.
