The Lassen County 4-H Youth Development Program has announced that Richmond 4-H member Molly Dickson was selected to serve on the prestigious 2026-27 4-H State Ambassador team.
This appointment represents one of the highest service opportunities and forms of recognition attainable within the University of California 4-H Youth Development Program.
The California 4-H State Ambassador Program is comprised of youth who demonstrate exceptional leadership and a deep commitment to community service.
As a State Ambassador, Molly will act as a professional representative for the entire University of California 4-H system. Her new responsibilities will include planning major events, developing educational platforms and participating in leadership conferences to inspire the next generation of members.
Molly’s selection is the culmination of 13 years of dedication to the 4-H program. She has already proven her leadership at the local level by serving as a Lassen County 4-H Ambassador and was honored last year as the recipient of the Lassen County All Around 4-Her award.
Beyond her leadership roles, Molly is highly regarded for her technical project work; she recently qualified to represent Lassen County at the State Fair County Best Small Animal Master Showmanship competition taking place this summer.
This achievement was made possible through the support of the many 4-H volunteer leaders and community members who have mentored Molly and helped prepare her for service at the state level.
“The Lassen County 4-H Youth Leadership program remains dedicated to producing members who are ‘Beyond Ready’ for their futures,” explains Lassen 4H Community Education Specialist Sandy Hutchens, “and Molly’s success stands as a testament to that mission.” (photo provided by 4H)
