Robert R. Manning Jr. died on November 23, 2023 in Janesville, California. Robert was the son of Margert and Robert R. Manning Senior, born April 27, 1943. He grew up working with his father on hop ranches in Northern California, where he started developing his skills as a truck and heavy equipment mechanic. Robert was a union member in the Teamsters and Operating Engineer for many years. Later in life, with his wife Carol, he moved to Brookings, Oregon and purchased a fishing vessel called Good Fishing II to start his retirement business with his youngest son. After a few successful years the three
purchased fishing vessel Inspiration.
Robert’s sister Beverly Copan ran a successful beauty salon for many years in Nice, California.
Robert is survived by his oldest son Michael, his wife Zjanett, his granddaughter Jazzalyn, his daughter Mary Eversult, her husband Rick, William, his wife Krista, and Grandson Donald Pellegrini. Dear relatives Pa would want to mention with love: Uncle Jim, Aunt Bonnie DeGaura and family, Uncle Ken Clark, Aunt Sue, and family.
The family wishes to give thanks to the communities of Brookings and Janesville who showed Ma and Pa much kindness during the periods they lived there, and to say a fond farewell to those friends left behind in Reno, Brookings, and Janesville.
We know Carol, Ma as she was known by many, was waiting for Pa at the gates of heaven. 54 years of love before Carol passed ahead of Bob in February 2017.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life for Robert in the spring of 2024. For more information on the Celebration of Life please reach out to one of Roberts children.
