The 3rd Annual Rock the Wake extreme wakeboarding event comes to Emerson Lake and the Diamond Mountain golf course this Saturday, guaranteeing a rockin’ good time as pro-wakeboarders throw down in a freestyle exhibition for a good cause, with funds raised going to Lassen County Farm Bureau scholarships, the Susanville Area Bicycle Association and the Lassen High welding shop.
Event organizer Nicholas McBride says that this year’s event will be epic with more riders that ever before and the best boat on the market, the monster Nautique G23, pushing out the biggest wakes Emerson Lake has ever seen.
With so many riders participating promoters have added a second rail on Emerson Lake. Rock the Wake riders will include extreme sports specialists; Tim Nilsen, Brodie Chaboya, Jaret Brantley, Nick McBride, Scott Starkweather, Chris Dykman, Trent and Mike Powell.
Mountain Life Flight is scheduled to do a fly-by and land for a static display, DJ Fiend will be providing music all day long and the Farm Bureau will have beer and refreshments for spectators. Food will also be served up by the Susanville Area Bicycle Association.
“Redbull,” says McBride, “Will be providing the Red Bull!”
Rusty Skinner from Norcal Team Hyperlite will be shooting photos for the team and Todd White will be filming and editing a 2013 edition of the Rock the Wake video. Here’s the video from last year so you can see just how cool the Rock the Wake event is.
There is a $10.00 entrance donation and the wakeboarding exhibition begins at 3:00p.m. and ends at 7:00p.m. After the event there will be a meet and greet for the riders, for ages 21 and up, at Lassen Ale Works at 8:45, followed by an after-party at Diamond Mountain Casino from 10:30 till close.
Sponsors, whose contributions make the Rock the Wake party possible, include Red Bull, Susanville Aviation, Lassen Ale Works, Leslie’s Jewelry, USA Recycling, Gonzales Trucking, Lasco Signs & Screenprinting and Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel.
Entrance and parking are at the old club house on Wingfield Road from 3:00 to 8:00p.m.
