Our beloved Mother, Rosemarie Bejcek, 92, of Susanville passed away peacefully at home Saturday November 2, 2024.
Born in Yreka, Ca in September 11, 1932, the daughter of the late John and Marie Gemmet of Placerville, CA and the middle child of four brothers. She was the wife of 47 years to the late Ronald C. Bejcek.
Rosemarie attended grammar school in Pollock Pines, CA ; graduating from El Dorado County High School in 1950. She supported herself as a nanny while attending and graduating with a Nursing degree from San Francisco Mt. Zion Nursing school in 1956. Rosemarie married her childhood friend, Ronald Bejcek in 1958.
She started her nursing career in Placerville, CA. In 1970, her career brought her and her family to Susanville, where they raised their five children. She retired 47 years later from Lassen Memorial Hospital. While raising their five children, she gracefully balanced her family, career, and many extra social events, including her church, 4-H Events, school events and fundraiser. She was very loyal to her family and community
She is survived by her 5 children. Daughter, Naomi (husband Frank) Turner of Susanville; daughter Holly (husband Michael) Carlson of Fair Oaks; daughter Renee (husband Bill) Rouse of Colorado; son Steve (wife Terri Lynn) Bejcek of Janesville; and son Wade (wife Jennifer) Bejcek of Washington State. Rosemarie leaves behind 9 Grandchildren: Laree Pierce; Morgan Roe; Adam & Joseph Rouse; Travis Bejcek & Danielle Schlesener; Taylor, Spencer and Collin Bejcek, and 8 Great Grandchildren.
Rosemarie was a “social butterfly”, a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend. She had a big heart and would always welcome you. She was passionate about life, family, friends, her career and community. And we will never forget her love of Yard Sales!
In her retirement years, she stayed very active with, Salvation Army, and Senior Center. She often delivered food for the needy, volunteering for the preschoolers pre-med clinics, and driving patients to their appointments in Reno. Rosemarie was active with the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Native Daughters, American Legion, Monticola Club, Jolly Elders, Bridge club, and the Senior Center.
She enjoyed traveling with friends to New Zealand, Switzerland, Hawaii, Mt. Rushmore, the Rose Parade in LA, just to name a few.
