Rosemary Brush – January 10, 2016

Rosemary Brush

Rosemary Brush, 88, passed away in her home on January 10, 2016 surrounded by her family into the presence of her Lord.  Rosemary was born August 12, 1927 to John and Marie Roos in Beaverton, Oregon where she spent most of her early years.  Rosemary and her husband moved to the Bay Area in 1954 and raised their three children. She resided in the Susanville area since 1980 with her husband Thomas Wayne Brush who preceded her in death September 2011.

Rosemary and Wayne enjoyed their RVs and traveled extensively in the United States, often spending winters in Arizona. They built several homes and later in life spent time managing their rental properties.

For many years Rosemary worked in the medical field in payroll and secretarial services, later moving to Litchfield spending rewarding time working with children at Shaffer School.

Rosemary was an avid gardener, skilled seamstress, and a wonderful cook sharing recipes and tips with everyone. She was well known for her pecan pies, freezer jams and Christmas goodies.

Rosemary found special joy in time spent playing with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and visiting with her girlfriends. Her most fond memories were of visits to her brother and close family in Oregon.

She was a longtime, faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and participant in Caring and Sharing Ministry.

Rosemary is survived by her brother Francis Roos (spouse Carol), her sons Christopher (Carol) and Gregory (Nidia), and her daughter Rosemari Reed (Raymond). She will be lovingly remembered by eight grandchildren Nicole Wright, Jennifer Brush, Randi Lasky, Ryan Reed, Andrew, Allan, Daniel and David Brush, along with thirteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on the 23rd of January at 11:00 a.m.
