The Susanville Rotary club will be broadcasting their annual Radio Auction fundraiser this Saturday, March 21st on 1240 KSUE radio.
Since 1974 the annual fundraiser for the Rotary organization, whose motto is ‘service above self’, has helped to support the many community programs that the club undertakes each year. The proceeds from this auction will fund a major project planned by Rotary president-elect Richard Egan during his upcoming term in office.
The mechanism is powerful, but the concept behind the auction is quite simple. Local businesses donate goods and services to the Rotary who auction off the items to raise funds, which it gives back into the community in the form of scholarships, youth leadership training, Sober Graduation activities, Main Street clean-up, music and speech contests, an annual children’s Christmas Party and direct donations to worthy causes.
It is easy to see how important this single fundraiser can be, and how its affects are felt in our community.
The auction will include a wide variety of valuable items and it’s always fun when the Rotarians, who do a terrific job of talking up the auction items, step to the microphone and start the bidding.
The Rotary Radio Auction will be broadcast live on 1240 KSUE starting at 9:00a.m. and ending at 1:00p.m. Saturday, March 21st.
