7:40a.m. Update
Firefighters made good progress overnight on the 250-acre Roxie fire burning near Roxie Peconom campground west of Susanville and according to Cal-Fire have the blaze 40 percent contained.
Cal-Fire Public Information Officer Leah Sandberg explained that steep terrain, heavy fuels, high temperatures and low humidity challenged firefighters yesterday, and those high temperatures and low humidity are expected to return today.
No structures have been destroyed. One injury was reported by Cal-Fire but no details were provided.
At this time there are no further evacuations and no road closures.
The cause of the fire, which is burning 6-miles west of Susanville, is still under investigation.
