Rumored Closure of LCC Childcare Program Unfounded

lassenchildcarecenterLassen Community College is assuring residents that, despite rumors that have been circulating throughout the community in the past several weeks, that at no point did the institution plan on closing the doors of its Child Development Center.

The rumor evidently spread after a meeting regarding the reorganization of various areas on campus. Parents of children currently enrolled in the college’s childcare program became concerned after hearing that the center might close, although that closure was never planned to begin with.

“Administration has been looking at every inch of campus in order to best utilize facilities in the extremely tough budget times we are under,” said LCC Public Information Officer Julie Johnston.

“Lassen Community College has no plans to close the facility and will continue operations of the child care center,” explained Johnston.

If you have questions or concerns you can contact the LCC Superintendent/President’s Office at 530-251-8820.
