Salvation Army Visiting Eagle Lake Today for Food Box Distribution

For the first time in recent memory, the Salvation Army, in partnership with the Eagle Lake Community Association and American Eagle RV Park, is bringing food boxes to residents of Spalding, Stones and Bucks Bay at Eagle Lake today, October 21st, at 11:30a.m.

“We have about 20 to 25 families that have been contacted and are meeting us to get food boxes,” explains Susanville Salvation Army coordinator Carla McDonald. “We will also be helping them complete our Holiday application for holiday boxes.”

The Salvation Army will be distributing Thanksgiving Dinner Boxes at Eagle Lake in November.

“With the gifting of our new space and our refrigerated van, we are trying to figure ways to reach the out-lying areas of Lassen County to best serve our neighbors in need while still being good stewards of what we have received,” McDonald said.

This morning’s food distribution will take place at The Old Restaurant, 509-725 Stones Road. Everyone must bring a photo ID and there is paperwork to be filled out.

For additional information call the Susanville Salvation Army office at 1.530.257.0314.
