The body of one-of-two women missing from the Litchfield area since October 25th was recovered in a tragic scene that played out along a lonely stretch of backroad east of Sage Hen Spring in far northern Washoe County. The second missing woman was not found in the vehicle and teams from both Lassen and Washoe counties are still searching the area.
According to details provided by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, hunters came across the missing Toyota RAV4 near Mixie Flat Road, several miles east of Sage Hen Spring, late Tuesday.
The RAV4 had a flat tire, a raised hood, and the word “help” was spelled out on the ground with items from inside the vehicle.
“A lone woman was found deceased in the passenger seat,” said Sarah Johns from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office. “Detectives dispatched to the scene say her death does not appear suspicious in nature. The woman is not yet identified, and her identity will be released at a later date by the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office.”
