Two men were arrested Tuesday as Deputies from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Lassen County Code Enforcement Office, served a search warrant at a large indoor and outdoor Marijuana growing operation in Wendel.
At around 10:00a.m., according to details released this afternoon by the Sheriff’s Office, Deputies seized 378 marijuana plants along with numerous firearms from the residence on Helman Lane, including an AK-47 style rifle.
A 53-year old Wendel resident, identified by the LCSO as Jerrold Westbrooks, was arrested and booked into the Lassen County Jail charges which included Cultivation of Marijuana; Maintaining a residence for the unlawful manufacture, storage, or distribution of a controlled substance; Felon in possession of a firearm; Possession of an Assault Weapon and Possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.
25-year old Vallejo resident Raymond Hewitt, was also arrested and booked on charges which include Cultivation of Marijuana; Felon in possession of a firearm; Possession of an Assault Weapon and Possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.
Bail was set at $30,000 on both individuals.
