The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the arrest of a 65 year-old Santos Telebango Bagano Jr., 65, of Stagecoach Nevada for violation of mandatory sex registration reporting.
Bagano was the subject of an intense search this morning by law enforcement after he was identified as an out of compliance sex offender who had been spotted several times earlier this week in the Janesville area. (read the earlier story here)
According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Kevin Jones the man was arrested at a local motel at around 10:05a.m. Friday morning. A Deputy with the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office spotted the vehicle Bagano had been seen driving at the motel on Susanville’s Main Street.
“Shortly after this information was disseminated to the public and media, our communications center was flooded with calls from members of the community who saw or had contact with Bagano in recent days,” said Jones.
“We thank everyone who called and wanted to help us in finding this person. A special thanks goes out to our media partners who swiftly reported this information through the radio, news and social media.”
