The Lassen County Sheriffs Office has released new information surrounding a shooting that occurred west of Susanville Wednesday afternoon and left a Susanville man dead from his wounds.
According to the Sheriff’s Office the decedent has been identified as 44 year-old Michael Shannon Hubbard of Susanville.
The investigation has been underway since the time of the original report and throughout the evening and early morning hours the Sheriff’s Office identified several persons of interest.
Early Thursday morning Deputies arrested 46 year-old Chance Lovin of Susanville as an accessory to murder. Lovin was booked in the Lassen County Jail.
The Sheriff’s Office is now seeking David Richard Bates, age 43 of Susanville, as a suspect in the murder investigation.
Bates is a white male adult, 6′ 1″ 210 pounds with long brown hair and brown eyes. Bates should be considered armed and dangerous. Bates previously absconded from parole. There is a no bail parole violation warrant for Bate’s arrest.
Anyone with information of Bates’ whereabouts should immediately contact the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office at 530-257- 6121.
