Sheriff’s Office: Property Recovered From 2017 Milford Area Burglary

Service of two warrants in the Janesville area on January 17th provided investigators with information that led to the recovery of items taken in a Milford area burglary in early 2017 according to details released by Lassen County Sheriff Dean Growdon.

The burglary occurred near Milford Grade in Plumas County during the winter of 2017 and was discovered later that summer. Investigators found that a wide variety of items, some of significant value, had been stolen.

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office continued to work with the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office on the case.

“Over time,” explains Sheriff Growdon, “deputies developed information related to the burglary.”

This information led to the service of two search warrants at residences on Sears Road in Janesville on January 17th.

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, Plumas County Sheriff’s Office, Susanville CHP and Susanville Police served the search warrants and although no stolen items were recovered at these residences, additional information was received.

According to Growdon the officers received permission to search a property that had recently been vacated by 37-year old Janesville resident Daniel Lee Jr. This residence was located at 465-645 County Road A-3 in Janesville. While searching this residence, officers recovered a large amount of stolen property tied to the Milford Grade burglary.

This case is still under investigation and people with information are encouraged to call the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office at 530-257-6121, or Plumas County Sheriff’s Office at 530-283-6375.

In an earlier version of this story the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office incorrectly identified the individual who had been living on the property located on County Road A-3 in Janesville as Daniel Lee Sr. Subsequently the LCSO has confirmed that Daniel Lee Sr. was not involved in the case.
