
The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office has released its comprehensive annual statistics for 2025, providing a detailed look at the workload and daily operations handled by deputies, correctional staff and support personnel during the year. The data highlights twelve months of significant activity, from thousands of emergency calls to hundreds of arrests and bookings at the Lassen Adult Detention Facility.
According to the year-end report, the Sheriff’s Office managed a total of 34,832 calls for service and non-emergency inquiries throughout 2025. This volume translates to an average of roughly 96 calls hitting the dispatch center every single day. Of those, 11,020 were emergency 911 calls, while 23,812 were classified as non-emergency calls.
“These numbers tell the story of a year filled with efforts to respond to emergencies, support the justice system, and protect the community,” said Lassen County Sheriff John McGarva. “I want to thank our team for their commitment and the community for your continued trust.”
Proactive law enforcement remained a priority for the Sheriff’s Office, with deputies logging 4,274 deputy-initiated actions. When responding to specific incidents, the office handled 8,255 formal calls for service. This work resulted in 468 citations issued and a total of 503 arrests throughout the year, comprised of 314 misdemeanor and 189 felony arrests.
The Adult Detention Facility also saw a steady flow of activity, recording 1,072 total bookings for the year. The inmate population was split between 391 individuals facing felony charges and 509 for misdemeanors, maintaining an average daily population of 83 inmates.
Beyond patrol and corrections, the office also fulfilled its role in investigative and civil matters, handling 157 coroner’s cases during the 2025 calendar year.
Reflecting on the sheer volume of work, Sheriff McGarva noted that the statistics serve as a testament to the hard work and dedication of the LCSO team in keeping the community safe and responding to the needs of all citizens.
