A Susanville couple were the victim of an armed home-invasion robbery Wednesday night in the River Roost Mobile Home park on South Lassen Street, and Deputies from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
Deputies responded to the River Roost Mobile Home park late Wednesday to find that a man and woman residing in the park had been victims of a home invasion.
“At approximately 10:25,” explains Captain Kevin Jones, “a female occupant of the residence answered a knock at the door of their home in the park. While opening the door, she saw a person dressed in all black clothing and facemask pointing a handgun at her.”
According to Jones the victim tried to shut the door but the suspect forced the door open, knocking her to the floor. The suspect demanded any money they had in the residence.
“A second victim entered the room and the suspect pointed the gun at him, demanding money,” said Captain Jones. “The suspect pushed the man towards a bedroom by gunpoint and ordered him to get his wallet.”
The suspect was described as a male by the tone of his voice, skinny and tall, carrying a pistol that resembles a Glock brand. The suspect was also described as having red color on a hat or hood he was wearing. It is possible the suspect will be in possession of a “RETIRED” CDCR badge that was inside one of the victim’s wallet.
Anyone with information as to the identity of the suspect, is asked to contact the Lassen County Sheriff’s Communication Center at (530) 257-6121. This case is being handled by the Detective Division.
