Sheriff’s Office Update: Arrest Made in Connection with Westwood Saloon Burglary

An investigation by the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office has led to the arrest of a Westwood man for his involvement in a Halloween night burglary at the Iron Horse Saloon in Westwood.

Deputies responded to a report of a burglary and discovered a point of forced entry to the Business.

“The door to the business had a broken window and had been pried open,” explains Operations Division Commander Captain Mike Carney. “The Business owner reported a large amount of cash had been stolen from the business.”

“After a thorough investigation and following up on several leads during the last three months, deputies developed probable cause to believe Javier Navarro, 27, of Westwood was involved in the Burglary.”

A warrant was issued for Navarro’s arrest.

On January 27th, Deputies from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, located and arrested Navarro for his involvement in the burglary.

Navarro was located in Westwood and was transported to the Lassen County Jail where bail was set at $30,000.

“The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the members of the Westwood Community for their countless tips and leads in this case.”

The investigation is still ongoing according to Carney and if anyone has any additional information regarding this case, they are asked to call the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office at 1.530.257.6121.
