Softball: Lassen High Varsity goes Undefeated to Win Big League Dreams Tournament

Both the Lassen High Varsity and JV teams traveled to Redding this past weekend. The Varsity played in the Anderson tournament and went undefeated.

They beat St. Bernard’s 12-2, Wilson 3-0, Oroville 14-4, Placer 4-1, Foothill 3-0 and Defending Section Champs Sutter 7-2 to win the Championship.

Lassen hitters were on fire this weekend. Mia Torres has 11 hits, 1 double, 1 home run and 8 RBI. Tina Torres had 9 hits, 2 doubles, 1 home run and 7 RBI. Julisa Rodriquez had 9 hits, 1 double and 9 RBI. Heather Fortin had 5 hits, 1 double and 4 RBI. Jessie Kerby had 5 hits, 1 double, 2 home runs and 2 RBI. Dani Neves had 6 hits. Garyn Harlan had 4 hits, 1 double and 2 RBI. Lauren Cagle had 4 hits and 1 RBI. Ava Steele had 3 hits, 2 doubles and 4 RBI. Kennedy Ford had  hits and 2 RBI. Carissa Shaffer and Haley Mullin had a hit a piece. Pitcher Carly Lewis threw a no hitter against Wilson.

Pitcher Carly Lewis was named MVP and Julissa Rodriguez was named offensive MVP.

They JV team played in the Enterprise tournament and went 2-2. They beat Trinity 11-6 and West Valley 4-3, and Lost to Foothill 6-0 and Red Bluff 9-8.
Pitchers Jojo Carmen pitched to 48 batters, had 11 strikeouts and 3 walks. Katie Turner pitched to 33 batters had 6 strikeouts and 2 walks. And Mackenzie Jones pitched to 15 batters, had 2 strikeouts and 2 walks.
