SPD Recovers Stolen Vehicle Along with Drugs, Cash and a Loaded Firearm

A traffic stop early Wednesday morning in the parking lot of Diamond Mountain Casino netted the Susanville Police Department a stolen vehicle, drugs, cash and a .38 caliber handgun according to details released by the department Thursday.

Officers conducted the traffic stop at around 3:20a.m. and when Lassen County Dispatch ran the vehicle’s information it returned stolen.

“During the recovery of the stolen vehicle Susanville Police Officers located approximately 5 ounces of methamphetamine, $3,074 in cash and a loaded .38 caliber handgun,” said SPD Police Sergeant Jeff Hopkins.

The driver of the vehicle, identified by police as 38-year old Joshua Paul Doyle, was arrested at the scene for vehicle theft, being a felon in possession of loaded firearm, possession of controlled substance, possession of controlled substance while armed, possession of controlled substance for sales, transporting controlled substance, possession of prohibited weapon (metal knuckles), committing a crime while out on bail and possession of stolen property.

According to Hopkins Doyle was booked at the Lassen County Jail and held on $100,000 bail.
