The Susanville Symphony’s Academy of Music Youth Orchestra will hold its yearly end of season concert performance at the Assembly of God Church Tuesday evening, March 17th.

Conducted by Carol Fontana, the ‘Symphony for all Ages’ provides an avenue for anyone with at least one-year’s experience playing an orchestral instrument, and is a feeder group for the Susanville Symphony Orchestra.

Fontana brings her lifelong passion for music and teaching to the Symphony’s Academy of Music.

“The music academy and the youth orchestra are exciting parts of our organization and provide more ways for the community to get involved,” Fontana says. “Our audience and patrons are already an integral part of the Susanville Symphony. The music academy adds to that by giving young musicians and young at heart musicians the chance to begin an instrument or pick up an instrument they might have set aside years ago.”

The youth orchestra encourages and provides a positive and educational musical experience for students ranging in age from children, to adults and seniors.

The youth orchestra is also designed to teach students to play in a working orchestral environment teaching concert etiquette.

The show begins at 7:00p.m. at the Assembly of God Church on Richmond Road and donations will be welcome at the door. Along with the performance you can purchase raffle tickets to win a quilt donated by local quilter Marilyn Sue Chapman.

For more information you can call the Symphony’s hotline at 310-8111.
