There is a very important fundraiser going on in Reno this Sunday, with the goal of raising funds to help eliminate Rett Syndrome, a unique developmental disorder that is first recognized in infancy and seen almost always in girls, but can occasionally be seen in boys.
The Reno Stroll-A-Thon is one of hundreds being held across the country to raise awareness and help to fight against the disease.
Local mom Stacey Barnetche, whose daughter Melissa is affected by Rett’s Syndrome, is inviting other Susanville residents to participate and contribute to the cause. So far Melissa’s Dream Team has raised over $1000. You can make a difference by clicking here and making your contribution.
The annual Stroll-A-Thon, which last year raised almost $70,000, will be held September 29th at Sparks Marina, beginning with check-in and registration at 9:00a.m. The Stroll-A-Thon itself starts at 10:30 and will get over at 12:30.
