The 100th year Celebration of California Women Winning the Right to Vote will be held on the Lassen County Courthouse lawn at 10:30 on Saturday, October 8. There will also be a march from the Museum to the Courthouse; those who wish to participate should meet at 10:00 to pick up yellow sashes from the Museum to wear on the march, which will be led by the VFW color guard.
The Rotary Club of Susanville is placing the American Flags on Main Street and the VFW has provided small American flags for the marchers to wave. Participants will include: Riki Jo Dimond leading a sing-along on the march, Miss Lassen County Bailey Hagata leading the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Reverend Denise Bowman Wylie offering the invocation.
Everyone is invited to attend and refreshments will be served on the lawn following the ceremony.
