If you have a child, grandkid, or even a friends’ child at home this summer, pry them away from their cell phones and video games and send them to Lassen Land and Trails Trust’s Nature Camp for great outdoor adventures and learning.

Participants at Nature Camp will enjoy observing wildlife, learning about history, archaeology, watersheds, geology, botany and how to be safe in the out-of-doors from the camp’s returning outdoor education professional, Gwen Pacheco.

Summer camp is always a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills and gain a greater appreciation of our beautiful Lassen County home.

Two sessions of Nature Camp day-camp are being offered for children ages 8 to 12; the first session is scheduled on July 23rd through the 27th, and the second session is scheduled for July 30th to August 3rd.

Registration is $100 per child; this includes all transportation fees, lunches from Susanville Supermarket IGA, and snacks for the day.

A limited number of scholarships are available for families who qualify. If you would like to donate to the scholarship fund, please call the Trust at (530) 257-3252.

To register, please visit www.lassenlandandtrailstrust.org/nature-camp, pick up a form on the kiosk at the Susanville Depot, 601 Richmond Road, or call (530) 257-3252.

“Our thanks go out to Lassen Municipal Utility District, a generous supporter of Nature Camp, to the Lassen County Transportation Commission for our special bus charter, and to Susanville’s new community pool,” said Lassen Land and Trails Trust Project Manager Amy Holmen.
