Summer is here, and Lassen Land and Trails Trust’s Nature Camp is a great opportunity for the children in your life to spend some time in the great outdoors, exploring the many natural wonders in Susanville and the surrounding area.

Two sessions of Nature Camp day-camp are being offered for children ages 8 to 12; the first session is scheduled from July 22nd through the 26th, and the second session is scheduled for July 29th through August 2nd.

“Participants at Nature Camp will enjoy observing wildlife, learning about history, archaeology, watersheds, geology, botany and how to be safe in the out-of-doors from our returning outdoor education professional, Gwen Pacheco,” said LL&TT Project Manager Amy Holmen.

“Summer camp is always a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills and gain a greater appreciation of our beautiful Lassen County home.”

Registration for the camp is $100 per child and this includes all transportation fees, lunches from Susanville Supermarket IGA and snacks for the day.

To register, please visit www.lassenlandandtrailstrust.org, pick up a form on the kiosk at the Susanville Depot, 601 Richmond Road, or at the Farmers’ Market in Pancera Plaza each Saturday from 8:00 until noon. You can also call (530) 257-3252 for more information.

“We would like to extend a special thanks to Lassen Municipal Utility District, a generous supporter of Nature Camp!” said Holmen.

This event is a program of the Lassen County Environmental Education Collaborative, a partnership between the BLM Eagle Lake Field Office, Lassen National Forest, the Lassen County Office of Education and Lassen Land and Trails Trust. For more information about the Collaborative, the Trust, their work or about trails to enjoy, please visit www.lassenlandandtrailstrust.org.

A limited number of scholarships are available for families who qualify. If you would like to donate to the scholarship fund, please call the Trust at (530) 257-3252.
