For the second year in a row the Susanville Symphony Oktoberfest performance will be held in the 130-year-old, meticulously renovated, barn at the Smith Farm off Richmond Road, and this year the event will act as a fundraiser with proceeds going to the Symphony’s Academy of Music.
“Last year was our first attempt at Oktoberfest and it was a great success!” explains musical director and conductor Ben Wade.
The ‘Oktoberfest Fall Festival’ concert will feature the symphony playing songs that, according to Wade, “made America what it is today.”
You can grab your partner and do-see-do to songs like Hoedown (from Rodeo), Where Eagles Soar, Ecstasy of Gold (from the Good the Bad and the Ugly), Beer Barrel Polka and much more.
Oktoberfest fare will be on the menu, “Think fall!” says Wade. “Pretzel and cheese, brats, cider, water, caramel corn and of course the Smith Farm bar will have beer and wine.”
The second performance of the symphony’s season will begin at 4:00p.m. this Sunday, October 26th, and presale tickets are $35.
The Smith Farm is located at 472-750 Richmond Road.
Tickets are available at Margie’s Book Nook. For ticket information call 1.530.310.8111 or visit www.thesusanvillesymphony.com.
