Have a great meal today for an even greater cause! Today, June 29th, the Susanville community has a delicious opportunity to give back to a vital local organization. Our local Panda Express is teaming up with Lassen Family Services to host a special fundraising event, with 20% of all event sales directly benefiting the agency’s Elder and Dependent Adult Abuse Program.
The fundraiser runs all day today, from 9:30a.m. to 9:00p.m., at the Panda Express located at 106 Robs Way in Susanville.
Why Your Support Matters
June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month, a time dedicated to recognizing and combating the challenges faced by some of our most vulnerable community members.
“Advocating for elder and dependent adults is more important than ever,” explains Brett Lindsey, LFS Outreach, Education, & Prevention.
“Many individuals in this population experience abuse, neglect, exploitation, isolation, or barriers to accessing services. Our program works to provide advocacy, safety planning, resources, support, and referrals that help older adults and dependent adults maintain their dignity, safety and independence.”
Lindsey emphasized the real-world impact of these efforts, noting, “These services can be life-changing for individuals who may otherwise have nowhere to turn. Every meal purchased during the event helps strengthen services for elder and dependent adult survivors right here in our community.”
