Susanville City Council Approves Natural Gas Rate Decrease

Effective July 1st, the Susanville City Council has approved approximately $100,000 in rate savings to its natural gas customers by providing a $0.06 per therm discount for residential and small commercial users. This will drop the current rate of $2.20 per therm to $2.14 and the over-450 therms per month rate from $2.12 to $2.06.

According to a press release from the city’s Natural Gas Division this will be the second rate reduction the Council has approved since winter 2010.

What does this mean for natural gas customers?

Basing estimates on historical use the Public Works Department estimates that this will equate to an 18.5% overall saving on your gas utility bill, and over $100,000 in customer savings across the system.

For more information about the new rates you can contact the city’s Public Works Department at 257-1041 or click here to visit them online.
