The Susanville Fire Department has suspended all burn permits in the City of Susanville as of July 1, 2013 and until November 1, 2013.
The department announced that within the City of Susanville, there are conditions of heightened fire danger that make it necessary to ban all burning.
Even with recent rains the fuels remain dry due to the prolonged drought throughout the region. Increasing summer temperatures also make the fire danger more hazardous.
All measures must be taken to prevent fires.
