Susanville FFA Announces State Degrees and Chico Field Day Results

On Saturday, Susanville’s Future Farmers of America team traveled down the hill to participate in Chico State and Butte College’s FFA Field Day, facing more than 1,500 FFA competitors from around the north state.

1st high Veterinary Science Team with Isabell Moore placing 1st high individual, Lily Ammon placing 2nd high individual and Yunuen Figueroa placing 4th high individual out of 110 students.

Agriculture Mechanics placed 1st high team with Cole Baldwin placing 2nd and Danny Davidson placing 3rd high individual out of 56 individuals.

Vegetable Crop placed 4th high team, out of 11; BIG placed 9th high team, out of 30 teams and Livestock placed 18th high team, out of 48 teams.

The next contest for the chapter is the first week of March in Gridley.

State FFA Degree

Twenty four Lassen High FFA students have been approved to receive their State FFA degree, the highest degree in the California FFA Association.

This degree demonstrates that the student has put an exceptional amount of time into their Supervised Agriculture Experience, developed their Leadership skills, and provided service to their Community.

“You are in a select group of hard working kids who excelled on your SAE and FFA involvement and Susanville FFA is proud of you,” said Advisor Elizabeth Ammon.

“Only 4% of FFA kids in the state ever receive their state degree. There are 95,000 members in the state.”
