Susanville FFA Launches Fundraising Campaign to Send National-Qualifying Team to Competition

The Susanville Future Farmers of America chapter has officially launched an online fundraising campaign to help support local agriculture students, with a special focus on sending its championship-level Advanced Parliamentary Procedure Team to the National FFA Convention.

The digital fundraiser, hosted through the Snap! Raise platform, runs from now until June 18th, and according to Susanville FFA Advisor Elizabeth Ammon, the stakes and the excitement are incredibly high this year.

“We are doing a fundraiser through Snap! Raise to help raise money to send our Advanced Parliamentary Procedure team to Nationals,” Ammon explained. “Our students will be representing the entire state of California for parliamentary procedure, which is an incredible honor.”

However, sending a team to compete at the national level comes with a significant financial hurdle. It is estimated that it will cost over $20,000 to cover essential travel expenses, including flights, hotels, meals, conference registration and other competition-related costs.

In addition to funding the national trip, money raised during the 28-day campaign will help offset rising travel and accommodation costs for all of Susanville FFA’s competitive teams and decrease the individual expenses for any member attending conferences and conventions throughout the upcoming school year.

How the Fundraiser Works
Many local community members, family members, and friends may have already received an introductory text message or email about the campaign. As part of the program’s setup, FFA students compiled a list of approximately 20 close contacts to reach out to for support.

Ammon wants to reassure the community that the outreach process is respectful and fully secure.

“The people who received a text or email will only receive four messages total across the 28 days, and they can easily opt out of the texts at any time,” said Ammon. “The Snap! Raise website itself is 100 percent safe. At the end of the 28-day fundraiser, the platform automatically deletes all personal contact information from its database.”

Alternative Ways to Support
For community members, local civic organizations, or businesses who want to contribute but prefer not to donate through the digital platform, the FFA has alternative options available.

“If people want to donate outside of Snap! Raise, they can contact me directly,” Ammon noted. “We have physical donation forms that can be filled out. We are also more than happy to attend local organizational meetings to speak about our program, and we will be creating media posts specifically thanking the individuals and businesses who step up to support us.”

A Message of Gratitude from Susanville FFA
The FFA program provides invaluable leadership, personal growth, and career success opportunities through agricultural education. Reaching this national milestone is a testament to the hard work of Susanville’s students.

“Thank you for supporting our fundraiser! Your donation helps provide a better experience for all participants and supports important travel expenses like gas, hotels, and food,” shared the chapter in a collective statement. “We’re especially excited that our Advanced Parliamentary Procedure Team qualified for Nationals, and this fundraiser will help cover those competition costs.”

“Your support means the world to us, and every donation helps us achieve our goals. We are grateful for your generosity and belief in our mission. If you could share our page with friends and family, it would make a big difference in reaching our target. Together, we can make a positive impact and create lasting memories. Thank you again for being part of our journey!”
