
Top competitors from the Susanville chapter of Future Farmers of America hit the road early on January 17th, traveling north to participate in the annual Tulelake Field Day. The local group participated in a wide variety of competition categories, facing off against other chapters from across the region.
The long drive proved worth the effort, as Susanville students dominated several categories, bringing home multiple “High Team” and “High Individual” honors.
According to FFA advisor Elizabeth Ammon, the event was a resounding success for the local chapter.
“The Tulelake competition went great! Susanville did amazing!” said Ammon.
The Susanville squad secured 1st High Team honors in three separate disciplines: Veterinary Science, Vegetable Crop, and Agriculture Mechanics.

Veterinary Science
The Susanville team took 1st High Team overall.

- Aurea Webb: 4th High Individual
Vegetable Crop
Susanville displayed dominance in this category, securing both the 1st High Team and 5th High Team spots.

- Tyler Swayze: 3rd High Individual
- Annie Hoffman: 7th High Individual
- John Ammon: 8th High Individual
Agriculture Mechanics
The chapter brought home awards for 1st High Team and 5th High Team.

- Dominic Mc Cutcheon: 7th High Individual

Advanced Parliamentary Procedure: 2nd High Team and 4th High Team

- Job Interview: Brayden Harkema (8th High Individual) and Troy Ross (7th High Individual)
- Creed: Samantha Bailey (4th High Individual)
- BIG (Best Informed Greenhand): The group took 2nd High Team, with Wyatt Bruce placing as the 6th High Individual.
