The Susanville Police Department reports that on December 17th, just before 1:00a.m. , officers from the department responded to the Diamond Mountain Casino for a report of a physical altercation between two men in the parking lot with possible shots fired. The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office also responded and provided assistance at the scene.
Upon arrival, officers found the fight over and one of the parties had left the scene. Investigation revealed that 29 year-old Susanville resident Jack Reyes Rios, while in the confrontation, brandished and fired a handgun.
According to Police Captain Tom Downing, Rios was arrested on several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, negligent discharge of a firearm, and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He was booked in the Lassen County Jail and is being held on $15,000.00 bail.
