Susanville Man Arrested After Early Morning Collision with City Utility Truck

A Susanville man was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol Thursday morning after his vehicle struck a City of Susanville utility truck at the corner of Cypress Street and Richmond Road.

At around 8:00a.m, according to Susanville Police Captain Ryan Cochran,  officers from the department responded to the area and located a 2005 Ford F-150 truck that had struck a City of Susanville vehicle that was turning left onto Cypress Street.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, identified by police as 27-year old Tyler James Medders, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and he was then booked into the Lassen County Jail.

The case has been referred to the Lassen County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
