Susanville Man Arrested After Lassen Surgery Center Burglary

policedepartment3A Susanville man was booked into the Lassen County Jail on multiple charges early Thursday morning after allegedly breaking into the Lassen Surgery Center on Fair Drive where he stole medication and then led officers on a short foot pursuit through a vacant field behind the building.

According to Lieutenant Matt Wood officers from the Susanville Police Department responded to Lassen Surgery Center at around 3:00a.m. after receiving a report that the motion alarm in the center’s front lobby had been activated. When officers arrived they found that a glass window panel from one of the main entrance doors to the business had been shattered.

“While searching the area, officers observed a subject run from the area of the business who refused to stop when he was ordered to,” explains Lieutenant Wood. “After a short foot pursuit, the fleeing subject was caught in a vacant field just north of 205 N. Mesa Street.”

Police identified the man as 58 year-old Susanville resident Randy Hall, who was found to be in possession of stolen medication from the surgery center.

Hall was booked into the Lassen County Jail on multiple charges including second degree burglary, possession of stolen property, delaying or obstructing a peace officer and a misdemeanor warrant out of Lassen County. Hall was held on $82,500 bail.

The case has been referred to the Lassen County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
