Susanville Police Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call in the area of Cypress Street early Thursday morning, arriving to find a male who immediately ran away from the Officer, but was quickly found again on Juniper Street.
Officers identified the man as 41-year old Susanville resident Richard Johnson, who police say does not live in the area and had claimed he was looking for his dog.
“Upon further investigation,” explains Susanville Police Chief Kevin Jones, “Officers discovered a concealed weapon on Johnson. He was arrested for felony charge of possession of Dirk or Dagger, booked into the Lassen County Jail and held on $20,000 bail.”
“We thank the person who reported Johnson’s presence in this residential area at this time of the morning,” said Jones.
