The Susanville Police Department has released details surrounding the Tasering of a Susanville man who scuffled with police Thursday night on the midway at the Lassen County Fair.
According to Lieutenant Matt Wood, shortly after 9:00p.m. Susanville Police Officers patrolling the Lassen County Fair responded to a report of a pair of belligerent subjects causing problems.
“The officers contacted both subjects, determined they were intoxicated and advised them to leave,” explained Lieutenant Wood, “One of the subjects, 21 year-old Susanville resident William Boone, refused to leave and pushed one of the officers.”
A short struggle ensued between the officer and Boone causing a second officer to deploy his Taser. Boone was taken into custody without further incident.
Boone was booked into the Lassen County Jail on charges of resisting a peace officer and held on $10,000 bail.
The case has been referred to the Lassen County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
