The Susanville Police Department and the Lassen County Animal Shelter are inviting the community to the Lassen County Fairgrounds for a special Pet Adoption and Low-Cost Rabies Licensing Clinic. This convenient one-stop event is scheduled for Saturday, May 9th, running from 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. at the Jensen Hall area.
Pet owners looking to protect their furry friends can take advantage of affordable services provided by Thompson Peak Veterinary Clinic, which will be on-site offering rabies vaccinations for $14. While the event is a great opportunity to find a new companion through adoption, those bringing their current pets are reminded that all dogs must remain on a leash for the duration of the clinic.
In addition to vaccinations, staff will be available to process both City and County pet licenses. For those living within Susanville city limits, licenses are available for $4 if the pet is altered or $10 if unaltered. County residents can secure licenses for $5 for altered pets and $15 for unaltered pets.
Organizers stress that a valid rabies certificate is strictly required to obtain a license. Attendees should also come prepared, as this is a cash-only event.
