The Susanville Police Department has released its annual crime statistics for 2025, providing a comprehensive snapshot of police activity, public safety efforts and department staffing over the past year.
According to the data released by the department, officers handled a total of 15,488 incidents in 2025. The breakdown of those incidents highlights a proactive approach to local policing, with 7,903 officer-initiated activities surpassing the 7,585 calls for service received from the public.
Arrests and Reports
The department reported a total of 497 arrests for the year. Of those, the majority were misdemeanor offenses, totaling 363, while 134 were felony arrests. The department also recorded 60 arrests specifically for Driving Under the Influence.
Officers filed 1,203 total reports throughout 2025. Criminal reports accounted for the bulk of this paperwork at 837, followed by 333 miscellaneous reports and 33 collision reports.
Traffic and Citations
Traffic safety remained a significant focus for the department in 2025. Officers conducted 2,516 traffic stops over the course of the year.
A total of 848 citations were issued, and these break down into 488 traffic violations and 201 parking violations, covering a range of infractions on city streets.
Community Interaction and Staffing
Beyond patrol duties, the department maintained active engagement with the public through administrative channels. The front desk fielded 1,366 walk-in counter calls, while Animal Control responded to 645 calls for service.
The statistics also highlighted the department’s commitment to professional development, noting that officers completed 1,424 hours of training in 2025.
