Susanville Police Investigating Multiple ‘Smash and Grab’ Break-ins

The Susanville Police Department is investigating a series of break-ins which have plagued town since the early morning hours of October 3rd, when officers responded to the Gift Boutique in the 1400 block of Main Street, to find that someone had smashed the front window of the business during the night. No items were reported stolen.

According to Police Lieutenant Matt Wood that initial incident was followed by several others of a similar nature.

On October 4th, at around 3:17a.m. officers responded to Paul’s Automotive on Johnstonville Road after unknown person smashed out the window on a side door of the business. No items were reported stolen.

Later that morning, at approximately 4:15a.m. officers in uptown Susanville found the window smashed on the front door of Hair Hunters and the door unlocked. An undisclosed amount of money was reported missing out of the cash register.

Shortly after that break-in officers located a smashed out window on the front door of Fred’s Barber Shop on North Lassen Street. No items were reported missing.

On October 7th, at around 6:59a.m. officers responded to Amerigas on Main Street to find the window smashed out on the front door of the business. No items were reported missing.

The Susanville Police Department is continuing to investigate these incidents and would like to remind the public to report any suspicious activity.
