Susanville Police Officer Chris Bosson received a California Hero Award at the 15th Annual Statewide Law Enforcement and Community Recognition Event sponsored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento on June 1st.
The MADD organization recognized law enforcement officers, other governmental agencies and community advocates throughout the state for their outstanding contributions in the fight against driving under the influence and the prevention of underage drinking.
There were over 500 people in attendance from 50 of the 58 California counties to honor officers, agencies, and community partners whose actions and policies are aligned with the mission of MADD to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this crime, and prevent underage drinking.
“Officer Bosson arrested 57 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol during the 2012 calendar year while still accomplishing his patrol officer duties,” said Susanville Police Cheif Tom Downing, “I am proud of Officer Bosson’s efforts and wish to publicly recognize him for going above the call of duty to make the streets of Susanville a safer place.”
Officer Bosson was also recognized for his hard work and dedication at the Wednesday evening’s Susanville City Council meeting.
