Susanville Police officers responded to a report of a body in the creek, near the footbridge, between the Sierra Shopping Center and the Wal-Mart parking lot, at around 1:30 Sunday afternoon.
“On arrival,” explains Police Chief Kevin Jones, “officers discovered a body submerged in the water. Upon retrieval of the body, with the assistance of the Susanville Fire Department, the body was identified as a male in his 40’s.”
According to Jones the Lassen County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office responded and will conduct an investigation on the identification and cause of the death.
