Susanville Rotary Club Holding Annual Speech Contest with Cash Prizes

Do you have a voice that needs to be heard? Want to sharpen your public speaking skills and win some prize money while you’re at it?

The Rotary Club of Susanville is officially inviting all local high school students (grades 9 through 12) to participate in their Annual Speech Contest! This is a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, enhance your college applications and share your perspective with community leaders.

The Theme
This year’s theme is “Unite for Good: Together, We Make Dreams Come True.” Contestants are asked to prepare and deliver a 5 to 7-minute speech on this topic.

The journey begins locally but can take you all the way to Reno!

The Local Club Contest will be held Wednesday, February 25th, at 5:30p.m. at the Monticola Clubhouse, 140 South Lassen Street, in Susanville.

Winners of the local competition will advance to the Area contest on March 25th.

Finalists will travel to the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, May 2nd, for the District 5190 Contest.

The Cash Awards
There is serious prize money on the table for talented speakers at every level of the competition:

Club Level: 1st Place $150 | 2nd Place $100 | 3rd Place $75

Area Level: 1st Place $200 | 2nd Place $150 | 3rd Place $100

District Level: 1st Place $1,000 | 2nd Place $750 | 3rd Place $500
