Susanville Seniors Invited to Lunch: New Program Brings Meals and Social Connection

A new resource for local seniors has officially arrived in Susanville, offering more than just a hot meal—it’s bringing the community together. Dignity Health Connected Living, in partnership with the California Department of Aging, has launched a senior lunch program designed to support the health and social well-being of Lassen County residents.

The program is open to all seniors over the age of 60, regardless of income. Organizers emphasize that while contributions toward the meals are welcomed to help sustain the program, no senior will be turned away due to an inability to contribute.

Lunches are served every Monday and Wednesday in Jensen Hall at the Lassen County Fairgrounds, 195 Russell Avenue. Dine-in or delivery services are available.

How to Join
To ensure there is enough food for everyone, seniors are asked to RSVP for their meal in advance. Reservations can be made by calling 1.530.226.3070.

A Community Effort
The program is made possible through grants provided by the PSA2 Area Agency on Aging and the California Department of Aging. Beyond providing nutrition, the initiative aims to combat social isolation by giving local seniors a regular place to gather, talk, and stay connected with their neighbors.

For those looking to give back, the program also announced that volunteer opportunities are available. Volunteers are a vital part of keeping these services running smoothly and helping our local seniors thrive.
