This Saturday, for one night only, the Susanville Swing Band will bring the sounds of the 1920s, 30s and 40s to the Susanville Elks Lodge for your dancing and listening pleasure! The Symphony Society’s yearly tribute to big band, swing and pop music features talented local musicians performing in what has become a much-loved annual tradition.
From Frank Sinatra to Glen Miller Symphony Artistic Director Ben Wade promises something for everybody, young and old.
“For over a decade we have been bringing the swing era to the good people of Susanville,” says Wade.Ā “A big shoutout to Matt Mullin for making this concert so revered. The legacy that he leaves for all of our concert goers is very much appreciated.”
Mullin directed the Swing Band for the first decade, pioneering the charts for those to follow.
“Matt now plays 4th trombone, ala tuba, in the brass section of the band,” Wade explains.
The swing concert is always a lot of fun and Wade invites everyone to come experience a live big band on a real dance floor. The bar will open at 6:00 and the music starts at 7:00p.m.
Tickets are $30 for preferred seating and $22 for general seating and are available for sale at Axia Home Loans and Margie’s Book Nook.
