Susanville Symphony’s Classical Pops Concert Happens This Saturday

The Susanville Symphony’s final performance of the 2021-2022 season happens this Saturday, May 21st, and promises to be a spectacular conclusion to another year of great concerts.

“It is a classical pops concert,” explains Conductor and Artistic Director Ben Wade, “think Bugs Bunny, Barber of Seville, Turkish March, Hall of the Mountain King and so much more.”

Not only is this the final concert of the season, but it will be the symphony’s farewell concert at the Assembly of God church, a venue that has served the ensemble well for nearly fifteen years.

“A big shoutout for the Susanville Assembly of God Church for hosting us for almost fifteen years. It has been a beautiful venue, full of memories, and this last concert will certainly be bittersweet.”

The end of one season heralds the beginning of another, and the Symphony Society is already making plans for the 2022-2023 season.

“We are already setting our sights on the next year and beyond,” says Wade. “Next year’s concert themes have already been chosen and the membership drive for next year begins at the Pops Concert.”

Saturday evening’s performance begins at 7:00 in the Assembly of God Church on Richmond Road. Tickets are on sale at Margie’s Book Nook, Axia Home Loans and there will be tickets available at the door.

For more information you can call the symphony’s hotline at 1.530.310.8111 or online at www.susanvillesymphony.org.
